PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

TCIONY offers professional development training as a learning model to help engage constructive dialogue to foster accountability, empathy, and conflict resolution skills which in turn empowers youth with necessary social and emotional skill sets with which to contribute positively to their communities. TCIONY provides training to the mentors and volunteers who interact with the youth as an opportunity to strengthen their relationships with themselves and with the people they serve.

We believe that our responsibility within the circle of life is to help young people realize their potential to live as capable, happy healthy individuals whose circumstances do not tarnish their capacity for success. Our staff and volunteer training was created in response to the young people’s expressed frustrations when interacting with parents, teachers, mentors, and interventionists seemingly disconnected or out-of-touch with the needs presented to them.

Since our work began in response to a national health crisis, our focus began with the mental and emotional health of the youth in our communities. As active members of our youth communities, we take seriously our responsibility for providing the youth in our communities with the tools they need to be able to transition from dependent children into productive and caring adults who in turn do the same for the next generation.
